I wanted to write a better song But turned up with 40 minutes gone So this little ditty will have to suffice Like most of my songs I really doubt I'll work out what it's meant to be about But maybe it'll still turn out nice

Just 6 more lines I need to pen To bring these lyrics to an end And then my skirmish will be enough This afternoon I'll try to write A song that isn't quote so trite And maybe I'll work out what this song rips off

Great little ditty, maybe goes to show an hour is way too long for a skirmish 😄. The lyrics blend so well with the melody, and it would be easy on hearing this to think that the song you're singing about is a metaphor

Love your unplugged sound and sweet melody and the impromptu slice of life feeling of the lyric. Lovely change up on the chorus with your gorgeous vocals. Not trite, just right for the skirmish!

My go-to topic when I can't think of anything to write about is writing about not having anything to write about. The Swift changes are always a good choice when you want to write quickly. This song came out as much more than a hurried exercise. You've got something here.

I like the idea of "A song is better than no song." ... I gave up on mine for this skirmish, but I'm glad you kept at it! As they say, 80% of creative work is just showing up (and building the habit of making something).
