Liner Notes
Nancy: @jazzanarchy and I built our own skirmish by grabbing the Where’s the Wizard When You Want Him lyric that @lyricslinger posted and coming up with some music, and posting it. The original lyric is here https://fawm.org/songs/328794 @jazzanarchy created the groove and sang the chorus and bridge parts. I sang the verses. @lyricslinger wrote the lyric and said we could share what we came up with.
Lyrics
Where’s The Wizard When You Want Him? (Verse 1) My father's in the forest But he's not coming out The bad elves have got him Dragged him underground
(Verse 2) The mountain top is smoking Like it's never done before And the druids by the fountain Say the only way is war
(Chorus 1) Where's the wizard when you want him? He's not here of course Probably sleeping off the night before A rumble of loud snores
(Verse 3) I'm sure we could fix this Without the need for swords Concoct a magic potion To tame the gruesome orcs
(Verse 4) My father could be free soon If we could win those bad elves' trust A glamour made with flowers Sprinkle the magic dust
(Chorus 2) Where's the wizard when you want him? He's not here of course The keeper of the temple says You better ask the whores
(Bridge) I found his spell books In his tower When I held those tomes I felt their power
(Chorus 3) Where's the wizard when you want him? He's not here of course Heard "E's been plannin' a runner" Declared Febric at the forge
(Outro) I just borrowed those spell books Practiced for an hour I mean, how difficult can it be To wield such power?

This is such a fun skirmish. The story has that playful fantasy feel, but the groove gives it real momentum. The 60s style organ part sounds great, nice and slightly gritty, and that funky drum beat really drives it along. Great collab energy on this one.
This is great fun! What a great collab -- it just feels like good times together. What do you call it when Filk rocks? Rilk?
A question we should often ask ourselves. I like where the story goes, particularly the ending. How hard can it be after all? That groove and organ part bring it all together nicely.
I saw the title and had to listen. My first thought was something connected to the Wizard of Oz, but this is a different wizard indeed. Gives me a Dungeons and Dragons feel (but I could be off base here). I love the vocal performances. Adds a fun element to the song. Cool collab!
