@wylddandelyon's prompt was "Where wild roses grow" and she suggested to alternatively use her typo "growl" instead of "grow" for people who prefer growling things to flowers. And an idea bloomed ...
Lyrics
Where the Wild Roses Growl
Where the wild Roses growl Where the Dandelions roar Where the Lupins howl There’s danger in the moor And in the meadow
You should never leave the track Or the Violets beat you blue and black You can’t hide your olfactory aura There is no place safe from the Flora
As you trample through Hedges and Bushes You learn no matter how much one pushes You will not get away without leaves And thorns in your pants and sleeves
Beware the Three-parted Beggarticks They get you with well planted tricks There are branches low and roots too high Twiners make you fall, grass sucks you dry
Where the wild Roses growl Where flesh wilts from Professor-weed You will not get AWOL and bloody thorns to make you bleed
And once the Triffids are in bloom All of Fauna will meet their doom Photosynthesis is for the drooped and old Show your petals, and follow Marigold
Where the wild Roses growl Where the Dandelions roar Where the Lupins howl There’s danger in the moor And in the meadow
Don’t sneeze

Never underestimate the power of a beautiful flower!! This is widely. Thank you for sharing. I had to look up what filk meant, now I know.
I love this! Especially "You should never leave the track Or the Violets beat you blue and black" - I love how prominent the violence is and also how with this early spring how much it could be about my allergies
I had fun listening to this from opening line to great ending line. So many clever rhymes and couplets, and a fun melody to carry it. I just love your blooming' idea/take on the prompt. I'm so glad I got to hear this one.
Fun take on the prompt. And always nice to see a Triffid reference.
It's a great prompt; the title alone was enough to get me smiling. That last line is a splendid punchline!
And now I'm imagining a remake of "An American Werewolf In London" only the hikers are Nick Cave and Kylie. I would watch that movie. Especially if it had triffids in it!
Oh, what a fun take on a typo! I love the dandelions roaring and the lupins howling - perfect. This is definitely a keeper!
I love this take on the prompt. What a fun lyric!
