A simple encounter very well described with empathy, which conveyed the feeling that we all have a lot more in common than not. Doesn't matter what the owner and dog looked like. Color, breed, gender, rich or poor ... we all get old (if we're lucky). Really brought the scene to life. Nice going!

I can definitely picture those two in my mind from the way you described them so well and in such detail. I never thought this listening to you before but right there you made me think of Ringo singing in a G Formby ballad style.

Really nice take on the skirmish. I like how your focus dances from the dog to the narrator. Really nice touch walking off at the end of the song. Full of joy and hope!

I love your first line with "shuffling" and you've set the tune to music that has a shuffle to it. Love your message here! I'm getting older (but not old ha ha!!) so can relate so much. This has a Beatles Ringo-song vibe, love it! Great skirmish.

Oh Bernie this is so wonderful! That image of the old dog shuffliing down the street with his smile "like a permanent surprise" - The joint journey of dog and owner coping with their golden years is so lovely and the upbeat melody and delivery stops it from being sad. well done and thank you!
