Liner Notes
burr and zecoop are visiting guatecoop for a weekend of in-real-life collabing. this started as an omnichord/theremin jam between burr and guatecoop while zecoop was busy finishing up his part on a 4track tape collab in the other room.
then things got out of hand. 21 hours later, this is what we had...
- @burr // #omnichord / #mellotron / #percussion
- @guatecoop // #theremin / #organ / #percussion
- @zecoop // #guitars / #percussion
we kept saying things like, “should we add some claves to this?” and the response was always, “why not?!?” hence the title...

This is so smooth. And there's a LOT of stuff in there. Seems like something new around every turn. The first I heard the hand claps I thought there was an audience clapping but it was too rhythmic and precise. The theremin is wonderful. I love the blings of the omnichord, such a tasty bit. The guitars hold everything together very well. I think this could be used as background music, as a soundtrack or as a feature track. There's so much to discover in it, kind of a little journey in and of itself. Wanna go? Why NOT?!?
I can hear this in one of those movie scenes where some over-the-top, highly stylized, gratuitously violent fight scene with lots of high-FPS slo-mo is happening set to an incongruously cheerful song. Maybe something directed by David Leitch...
Also: such wonderful whimsy!
Maybe I need a nap...
What a pretty piece it came across to me very cinematic, i could see it in one those films about the later 60s. cool theremin. very nice track
That was the most fun I've had folding laundry! Thanks for that lively and multi-textured tune!
Wonderful tune, everything feels so full and round. Excellent choice of sounds. Your liner notes read like a lot of fun.
Cool, future theme song for something.
I love all the tone tangents this goes on to this delightfully kitsch-tastic rhythm section. Every time I think it can't surprise me with more maximalism, it does. Fun to listen to, as I'm sure it was to make!
