We used to live in an ancient four story house we rented. It had a cellar, but we never went down there for fear of what we might find.

Then we got a cat (won in a lottery - but that's another story). Anyway, she could squeeze her body flat enough to get under the old barn-like door to the cellar. Almost every day she would have one or two "thank you for the food" presents in the form of dead mice. That was enough for us to decide to take on a mortgage and buy our own modern flat. 😬

Sadly, Pussy (an original name in Catalunya) hated our new flat and escaped. Months later, the new tenants invited us into our old house to give us some mail that had arrived for us at that address. There, on the sofa, sat Pussy with a look on her face that said: "Oh no! They've found me!" 😈 - We let her stay with her new family, of course.
