Treasure Hunter

Liner Notes
@davidtaro (music): Sometimes you just need to turn the guitars up to 11 and make some #loud #dirty #bluesrock. Luckily, Nadine had sent me these awesome lyrics earlier in the month. Hope you enjoy the noise!!
@nadine (lyrics): I wrote this story about exposing a marriage imposter or sugar daddy / mommy, but every time I tried a chord progression, I covered one of my own songs. And then I hurt my tendon :( As David is the best man for dirty blues songs, I asked him - and he recorded the whole song! Thank you so much - I love what you did here! It even has some #garage
Lyrics
You got all the money I got all the gold You treat me like honey If I do as I am told
You say take it sleazy Everything comes easy But life ain't that way If you don't have the pay
You're a treasure hunter Digging for gold You’re a treasure hunter Secrets untold They say money cannot buy you everything Yet it’s funny how there’s all this bling bling
You got all the wisdom Lavishly draped You trick out my system But I got you taped
You say take it sleazy Everything comes easy I'm not built that way I just can't obey
You're a treasure hunter Digging for gold You’re a treasure hunter Secrets untold They say money cannot buy you everything Yet it’s funny how there’s all this bling bling
You got all the passion Breaking up my stride You take all the action Make our worlds collide
You got all the charm But you’re raising my alarm My heart is so conflicted My brain feels contradicted
You're a treasure hunter Digging for gold You’re a treasure hunter Secrets untold Somehow money cannot teach you everything If it could then why are you not my king

Thank you!
Wow, amazing delivery of the lyrics. Love how heavy and fuzzy everything is. Bit of Black Keys, in the best possible way. What a great collab. A real rocker.
Thank you!
F-Yeah! This is just ass kicking. Love the slide and the dirt on the vocals. It sounds like everything is running through a 60’s fender champ with a rip cone. So so good! Love the guitar solo. This is a fantastic Collab!!
Thank you! I have no idea what sorcery David is doing with the fuzzy amps and vocals but it sounds great!
dems dirty rock! I bet you had fun Dt smashing this out as much as i had listening! good story and well laid out Nadine - glad you could find a way to get some stuff out in Feb, hope you recover soon! im drowning in the solo yoo hoo
Thank you! I wrote these lyrics before my arm started to ache. My FAWM is basically over, I'm just waiting for a few stems, but I won't play and record anything.
This sounds absolutely massive!!!!! I could hear this tearing down a stadium and the lyrics are fantastic, nice work.
Thank you! David really nailed the fuzz!
Eeuuughhhhhh this is derrrtyyyyyyyy bloooooooozzzz folks! Hot damn, I am blown back! Once you hit that tonic groove again after the pre-chorus on the IV-V, the stink face and nodding along is inevitable. Great lyrics @nadine got me grooving immediately with the opening stanza
You got all the money I got all the gold You treat me like honey If I do as I am told
and thanks for the ride in that loud track @davidtaro !
You're welcome, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
I love blue rock, and this does not disappoint. Sounds are dirty and nasty in all the right ways. Ain't nothin apologetic about this song. it's all bold and brash right in your face, and I love it!
Thank you! Oh yes, David really smashed it into your face!
Sounds like something I could hear Aerosmith playing.
Thank you!
holy crapola - grit doesnt cut it, this is raw dirtbox blues. the vocal is exceptional David!! the epic lyrics were crying out for this treatment - match made in heaven. and that abrupt ending left me wanting more!!!!!
Thank you! David got all the gritty fuzz, and I'm happy he used them for my lyrics!
Wow. Raw bluesy power. Those guitars sound crazily good with the heavy bass and drums. And those vocals - yikes! Love the backing woowoos too. This one's got the kitchen sink in it. Superb.
Thank you! Oh yes, David got all the grit and power!
I think those guitars are actually set at "12"... Great set of lyrics from @nadine . Another terrific collaboration from both of you! ❤️
Thank you!
Oh man, this is so good! Grit, dirt, groove and all the good stuff. The lyrics and the music match so seamlessly. Angry and aggressive but with just a little bit of a twinkle in the eye. Loving how it's based on many of the blues rock tropes appropriately paying homage to the classics, but it has that unique David Taro touch that makes it stand out. Great work, both of you.
Thank you! I enjoyed that David went this direction with my lyrics.
That’s a brutal guitar tone to open with. Loving the distortion on the vocal. Wah wah solo? Yes please!!! Amazing job both
Thank you. I loved that wah solo too!
Fantastic blues rock lyric and what a Rival Son production. Wow! Thanks 🙏
Thank you! I never heard of that band. Watched a video and stayed there... I understand that comparison!
This collab is top tier! David, you took Nadine's fantastic lyrics and brought them to life in the most incredible way. I am shook to the core... speechless, jaw dragging on the floor!
Oh yes, and how he did. Thank you!
Yeahhhh…sometimes you just have to resort to guitar (dirty blues guitar) to accentuate a set of rather telling lyrics. So where to begin? Not really sure. The music and lyrical approach come right out the with loud proclamation. Just hits right in the musical gut. Linda Jones used to belt out her tunes this way. No subtlety. Just straightforward rawness. And this is it right here. Y’all got this one.
Thank you! Yes, I imagined a loud and heavy song, and David took it even further!
Couldn’t resist seeing those two names linked in a collab. Love it! Now this is what I wish I could do! Believe me, it’s all going on in my head - lol!
Thank you! I know you follow us for years, and I bet this won't be the last collab
Hot damn! Diggin for gold? We have found it right here! This is big, brash, bold and brilliant. What a team! What a collab! 💯
Thank you so much!
This very excellent collaboration of sleazy lyrics, dynamite vocal phrasing and filthy, filthy guitar reminds me of the early days of pre-80s Whitesnake (before Marsden and Moody left because they didn't agree with "synthesizers" and "blow dried hair"). All of which is to say it's pristine, perfectly on note for that type of song. The lyrical turns of phrase, the slide guitar, all brilliant!
Thank you! The use of the word sleazy is actually a nod to a certain series... I like that David took it so literal and went vol 11 with all!
Man...did I just tune into the college station here in Madison? This slams!! Love the distorted vocals...the riffs are just golden. You brought the fire to Nadine's killer lyrics...this is a flat out jam guys!!! RAWK!!!
Thank you, yes David did a great job here! If your station is playing that kind of music, that's awesome! I miss real rock these days.
you said it all in your liner notes. loud, dirty blues rock,,,this is going to excite all who are drawn to those four words. and they are going to come away with a lot more than they expected. this is loud and dirty, but it is also crafted with a care of a craftsman and performed with devil may care abandon.
Thank you! Oh yes, David did a great job in creating a loud and dirty blues songs around my lyrics.
Yeah! That's some nasty blues sound! Love how lyrics and music work so well together that it's impossible to tell what was written first. Excellent collab!
