Liner Notes

Thank you for the prompt.

Saw the prompt and thought of my recent coffee cup which to my surprise had a shape of a heart still there while I finished my coffee. Normally I see a little bit of coffee left, not the heart. So here are my lyrics. Please let me know if you hear music/ vocals. Thank you for listening and commenting. After reading the comments, I thought I should follow the advice and have a go at music and "vocals" so posting my "demo". Please don't let it put you off the idea of adding music/vocals if you hear it while reading my lyrics. If you like my music and you are happy to sing using my music, I can send you the piano track. I see your heart on a bottom of my cup Lyrics © 2026 Nadia Cripps

I see your heart On a bottom of my cup We are so far apart It just doesn't add up

Most people are away Busy with something of their own I'm alone, in a dark café My latte is cold as a stone

I long for you in such despair I call you each time in my mind Let most people ignore it and not care But please don't live our love behind

Most people come and go You are the one I miss the most Maybe one day you'll know We are truly close

But for now I see your heart On a bottom of my cup We are so far apart It just doesn't add up

@ruby

Echoes of the classic torch song. Love the way the melody and lyrics sit like a conversation over the piano.

Thank you so much, it's so kind of you!

I love the way the singing and piano add so much to the ideas in the lyrics. Fantastic!

Thank you so much. So kind!

Great song! The effect of your beautiful accent and the lyrics evoke Marlene Dietrich and a smoky 1940's dive bar in Europe from old movies. Great to hear you as well!

Ah, thank you so much. I'm honoured to see such a great compliment.

@kkd

The piano is wonderful and lends such wistfulness to the longing in the lyrics

Thank you very much.

@atornberg thank you, you probably wish you haven't suggested it, because here goes: vocals are added lol

Nice reflection of a relationship. It would be good to add vocals to this one!

[pic]

Thank you Matt, I've added some kind of vocals lol.

It's a nice idea, marrying the external impression of a caffeineated heart with your own

Thank you, Richard.

Hey! Never read lyrics from you before! Nice job! I think you should put it to music yourself and narrate or sing the lyrics! I also love the heart in the bottom of the cup metaphor. Great job!
