Listen To The Wind

Liner Notes
I had stuff to do today so obviously I procrastinated by writing a song. Apparently I'm enjoying an #answersong at the moment. This is not so much as answer, I suppose, as a follow up, to an early Dylan number, with #ukulele and harmonica. I kept messing up but I've got to go and do stuff so this'll have to do...
(Edit: already thought of a lyric change, maybe I'll rerecord when I have time if I decide I like this enough!)
Lyrics
I've been counting all the roads that I have walked down I've been searching for a dove out on the beach The cannonballs have been replaced by missiles And all the answers might be out of reach
We've travelled over sands and over waters Fought battles and survived through thick and thin But we've never found the answers we've been seeking So maybe we should listen to the wind
The mountains are still towering above us The people are still bound by iron chains Turned our heads so far we're looking backward But in all this time the question still remains
We've climbed across the peaks and through the valleys We've been searching for the enemy within But we've never found the answers we've been seeking So maybe we should listen to the wind
We see it but perhaps we're not believing The good there is in any pretty sky We could hear it but nobody wants to listen When there's comfort to be had instead in lies
We've looked up and seen the clouds are slowly drifting We can try to hear the chimes of freedom ring But we've never found the answers we've been seeking So maybe we should listen to the wind
We've walked down every street and every alley Crying out but never giving in Still we've never found the answers we've been seeking So maybe we should listen to the wind

Like your sound. Little echoes of Dylan's expression sneak in here and there. Suggestive of his lyrical style without being heavyhanded. Thanks for not doing an imitation of his singing.
That Gm - D during "listen to the wind" is perfect and unexpected. And yes, we should listen to the wind - sometimes the biggest protest during hard times.
I enjoy songs that include nature and all that it has to offers. This is well-written and has a catchy melody. Good singing and playing. Nicely conveyed!
There is so much beauty in the natural world, and that can help us destress and reflect on not only how the world shapes us, but also how we shape the world. Nicely written.
I like your melody, the phrasing is familiar sounding but fits the lyric very well. I really like your title and how it does answer the original. I like the lyric, the theme and perspective is a good one and there are some particularly hard hitting lines. This is a great use of the minor iv, too.
I love the G to G minor on “maybe we should listen to the wind.” The harmonica sounds great! Very timeless lyrics while still feeling so relevant to right now
I suppose a harmonica and solo guitar arrangement dooms anyone to be compared to Dylan, but in my case it's a compliment.
