Yet Another Love Song

Skirmish: Repetition (@200ghosts)Liner Notes
For the repetition skirmish.
Here I repeat one phrase, several times in each verse and chorus, I also repeat the riff between verses and the only rhymes are a repeat of "-ay" endings.
Instrument: Alto Guitar (Steel Strung Tenor Ukulele)
Lyrics
(C) (F) (G)
At the risk of repeating myself There is something I've got to say You know it well, but I love you And I love you more each day
I love you - I love you And never will I stray I love you - I love you. And I will 'till my dying day
I loved you when you were younger I love you now your hairs turned grey I'd love you if we lived in Dublin New York or in Bombay
CHORUS
Whether you're feeling up or down I'll still love you anyway I know you are no angel 'Cos we've both got feet of clay
CHORUS

So special and sweet and so full of … what is that subtle feeling I’m reading into the lyric…?..? Could it be fondness?… affection?…. Oh wait! I think it is of love you sing! Delightfully loving!
Thanks. Happily, this is really what I think about life with Carmen... Well. 90% of the time, anyway 😄
Brilliant take on the prompt. Very nice to hear your song, singing and playing. Beautifully loving.
Thanks. I think reminding yourselves that you love each other helps maintain a relationship.
Terrific job on this--best lyrics about "repetition" ever. Great one! ❤️
Wow, Jerry. Thank you so much!
lovely little folk number here! the repetition of I love you is very powerful, rather than trying to dress it up he just says it again and again, beautiful.
Thanks Spike. Glad you liked it.
What a warm and sweet atmosphere, the repetition contributes to the intensity of the song. Nice one!
Thanks. It seemed to be the obvious response to the prompt for me. I was surprised no-one else went for the obvious "pop" repetition. After all, it worked for the lads from my hometown of Liverpool who sang: "She loves you... Yeah, yeah , Yeah!" Most of their hits used that phrase. 😉
Lovely feel to this one. Proper good old fashioned folk music and a very good listen
Thanks Gordon.
This one makes such a good case for repetition. The repeated hook adds conviction to the message, as does the stability throughout the song. Nicely crafted!
I thank you, sir!
This is so disarming, I often shy away from using that phrase in lyrics, but this is really heartfelt and charming, and uke sounds gorgeous 😃
I thought there'd be a lot of "I Love You" songs. It must be one of the most repeated three words in the Pop Canon.
Charming! And awesome picking. Great hearing you again!
