Lyrics

911 what’s your emergency? 4641 Heather Drive Her children are trying to reach her Did she fall?

She’s old but she’s really not Say your name and she’ll let you in She still shops and pays her bills Indominatable spirit

She might be in pain A while ago she had gout It would take a lot to keep her down Keep her down and out of touch

Please do a wellness check She means the world to her children Is she ok? Did she fall asleep? Her children are worried

Knock on the door, no answer They have to break the lock She’s in the living room, looks asleep She’s having trouble breathing

At the hospital now Her breathing is normal Sleepy but alert Will she go back home?

This is lovely. Love the open chords and the phrasing/vocal approach.

The medical narrative of this song reminded me ever so slightly of "comfortably numb". The heavy strummed nylon string guitar (or Uke) gives this an unsettled feeling - one of beauty but weight. I am "randoming" my way through FAWM to remind myself of how wide music is, vs. my own narrow definitions when I write my own stuff. This absolutely did and was a breath of fresh air - good song!

this is beautiful! i love the strumming and the reverb is a gorgeous touch. the vocals are a perfect touch to the instrumentation, i love how you sing and talk back and forth, it's a nice element. great job!

Both my Mom and Dad have taken a few falls over the past few months. This hits pretty close. Haunting song, Mike. Well done.

Love the open D tuning - those are some lush, rich chords and I really like the chord progression. You tell the story so well and the tension mounts until we know she is OK. This line really stood out to me "She was old but really not". It makes me think of my mom who went through something similar and was very much beloved.
