Running Through My Head

Liner Notes

I'm not doing FAWM this year. I don't have time! This song therefore, does not exist.

Heavy but hooks was the plan - Coheed and Cambria, or Breaking Benjamin or Thrice or .... I dunno, big loud metal guitars but poppy hooks in general.

I like that NOT VIDEO a lot. I was listening while doing little tasks that I usually avoid, but this kept me glued in my seat.

Really strong not song! The verse is really great, super poppy in tune super heavy in mood. I love the guitar breaks throughout the chorus. The breakdown section after a couple minutes is really fun, with the two guitars moving against each other like they are dancing round each other. Epic solo before the third verse. Great write - glad you found the time to play

First of all: happy non-fawming. I will not comment. Man! So good to hear you again. What a way to start the day, listening to this one. 🤘🎧🤘

As soon as the heavy kicked in, I made that face. You know the one. The rock face. Chin out, brow set, nose scrunched, lips tight. And I held it for the remainder of a song. Head banging as required.

I love it when a band can just sit on a good heavy groove for a while. Just enjoy it. You do it a few times here and it's so satisfying. And my God the NUMBER of grooves. Chefs kiss.

Killer track.

Oh my; this is rather heavier than I'm used to from you, mate. I really like those chunky guitars; dropped tuning? They sound deliciously grungy. Your pop sensibilities play rather nicely with this style, I reckon. Those vocal harmonies fit perfectly. The bridge section at 2:50 is full of sparkly goodness, with that clattery bass line grounding it all nicely and is it going to move in to a guitar solo section? Of course it is!

Y'know, for a song that doesn't exist, I enjoyed this a lot.

Thanks! I'm playing a cheap 7 string that only just stays in tune :-)

Loving the guitars. Your chorus melody is enticing, it's great above those guitars. big guitars and poppy hooks exactly describe this slice of wonderfulness this morning. This is awesome, more so for a song that doesn't exist.

I also have no idea which bands inspired you, but probably many that I also listen to. This is just my bop. And maybe we're all dead. But not dead enough to enjoy heavy riffs and good guitar tones.

This slaps! (Do people still say that? I haven't heard it in a while, but it felt appropriate here. 😛 ) You've successfully included multiple solid hooks. Guitar tones are nice and thick, too. Two horns up!

Thank you! I think things still slap. Probably...
