the cave

Liner Notes
a little piano interlude for my album, dial tone, to mark the halfway point! technically this song does have lyrics to it but i kind of wanted to leave it as is to showcase the keys this time. i could be convinced to record a reprise with vocals!
here are the would-be lyrics:
soft as falling feathers
in the crosswalk talks between
mind and matter
time is given
it's spent
and it's wasted
on moments
of hesitation
willed free of the shallows
and shadows on cave walls
forget the self
spit out the sun
give into the free fall

thank you!!! ♡
Speaking of Cave, check out the song Sorrow's Child by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Your song has a simiilar cool, dark vibe. It'd be interesting to hear where you go with this vocally.
ooh definitely will do! thanks for listening :))
When that darkness comes in at 34-ish seconds, whoa. Cool experience reading the lyrics and listening
thanks so much!! maybe i'll record a version with vocals.
i love the twinkling music box under the heavy piano there. a beautiful contrasy. the piano sounds like a cave too-like a level in a video game in the best way
i'm glad you picked up on that because that's exactly what it is (a music box.) and thank you for the kind words about the piano, if you look at the actual notes the tracks look like stalagmites/stalactites in a cave. just a fun little behind the scenes note :))
The beginning is like an old music box... this feels like it is leading up to something. I wonder what is next?
you'll have to see to find out!! ;))
Oh lovely synth sounds. OOH I love these lyrics - very well done. Cool soundscape and very nice panning and balance. It sounds pensive and dark. Love your FAWM handle BTW.
thank you!! sadcoolgirl has always been my name/brand wherever i go :)) i was hoping to capture the darker tones of the album coming up with this one and it seems like it was effective, thank you!
Sounds really good! I like the chill vibe. The lyrics read like they would fit this vibe well, so it would be nice to hear them with your vocals!
you're making a good case for it, if i have time this month maybe i will revisit!
Ooh, dark and foreboding piano tones here. I like this as a transitional interlude.
thank you! i agree, it's definitely a little button on the album and fits perfectly as an interlude. maybe one day i'll consider an extended version.
still good!
