Well, it sure needs a better demo, but you can see from the lyrics what I was trying to sing from :)

Beaches of Noordwijk, Netherlands. Pill boxes covered up. Glowing tides that trace your feet at night. Combine the two and curse.

Lyrics

The Glowing Tide Jemma Kline

A A B C D D C C C C A C D B They say that you can find them, on the darkest night of May, Am F6 Am Em B A B C D C A A B C D E F E The glitter trails that chase you, as you’re racing through the bay. Am F Am E E G F E E G E E These wil-o-wisps will race ahead, Fmaj9 Am7 E E D C A C D C And never let you catch your breath, Fmaj7 Am C C A C D C A A A C C C C B Until at last you stumble, into sandy salty spray. Fmaj7 Am E

B E E E C These shores remember, Am C C C C In springtime sun, C C C C D C The guard posts waiting, Dm7 C C C B For war to come. E And still the ghosts are watching, when the moon is tucked away,

Their whispered words still echo, that is what the stories say,

Though boarded up, concrete inside, The spirit of that evil hides, In seaside tombs still lingers, in the sandy salty spray.

These shores remember, In springtime sun, The guard posts waiting, For war to come.

A shade, too dark A past, too stark, Their names must not be spoken, Again.

These shores remember, In springtime sun, The guard posts waiting, For war to come.

Most evocative. What came to mind for me were the beaches of Normandy. I haven't been there yet, but it's on the bucket list. And I think you share the thought that the table is being set for war.

From what I have heard, the beaches here were reinforced because of the possibility of a landing here rather than Normandy, so indeed, I was thinking of the ghosts here still waiting for an attack that never came! A photo:

I really enjoyed this! The music and lyrics evoke the curse lurking at the shore even on a springtime day.

This feels very seaside and a little ghosty in the accompaniment and vocals! I definitely get the vibe of the song from the demo, and no shade on the demo at all, after all you went from no song to demo song in just an hour, that's amazing!

It’s a skirmish—who cares about the demo quality? It’s all about pushing yourself to just go for it! This has a delightful seaside shanty vibe, evoking the image of a solitary pirate bard perched on a boat, singing under the glow of the moonlight.
