The Returnal Dragon
Liner Notes
#instrumental #bass_first #six-string-bass Studio refit and house remodelling finally complete! Chopping through the main network cable to the studio threatened to see me throw in the towel for this year! However, it's all repaired and Dragondreams is back in the game. :-)

I'm glad you only lost a week or so of FAWM time! This is a nicely upbeat piano tune with great accompaniment.
I'm glad the castle is finished with renovations! Wow, I'm really loving everything about this! Great proggy piano line there. And of course your flawless bass work. Excellent guitar solo for sure. I seriously enjoyed this very much!
Back on track with a fulminant tune! Fusion, jazzy, funky and awesome song! Puts me in a really good mood! 😃
Welcome back, Paul! And what a way to re-enter the fray. Love that initial piano figure, and then all of the spectacularly well judged weavings and layerings around it. It's mathematical, it's beautiful, it's exciting. It's awesome.
Damn Paul this is quite a ride! Love the twists and turns, great piano and bass parts!
What a cool jaunty, jazzy vibe, and a sweet prog undertone that I love! The production is so clean.
Two of my favourite tunes are ‘Linus and Lucy’ by Vince Guaraldi and ‘G Spot Tornado’ by Frank Zappa with Ensemble Modern and this piece with its jazzy piano and avant-garde strings is sort of how those two pieces would mash up in my brain, or if they were to be slammed together in a particle collider, scattering 6-string bass riffs flying off like muons ….
You're back and in fine form! Nice drum /bass grove and some fancy piano playing...just a great tune all around
This sounds like a triumphant return soundtrack, a kind of "hell yeah" as you crash through the doors. Very fancy piano work and quite a different sound overall although the classic Dragondreams elements are in there.
I love this right off! The piano is so much fun and sounds great! Of course you have lots of twists and turns and they work very nicely to tell the story. I’d hate to work out the theory of it though. Excellent song!
Sounds great! Very peppy. And glad your studio is back up and running. To be without a studio is horrible.
Thank you loads It feels good to be back - and finally have my studio EXACTLY the way I want it. It's now designed rather than the haphazard result of an evolving set of solutions to various challenges. :-D
So glad to have you back! And what a piece to come back with, all upbeat and sparky as it is! Honestly, what a daft time to get the builders in ;)
Thank you, my noble Lord. And yeah, I was a bit of a pillock with the timing. But blame my sister for never having learned to drive, then lumbering me with picking up her grandkids from school while the other grandparents are on a cruise, simply because she moved from a house two hundred yards from the school to one four miles from the school... (True story). :-D
o ya!!!! this is cool. really love the drum sounds. and that BASS so sexy and low, which dances with the piano so beautifully. you're a madman...im always blown away by your acumen. you make me feel like an amoeba (in a good way) looking up at...idk...Thor or someone equally badass and powerful...SMITE ME LORD DRAGON DREAMS!!!!! FOR I AM NOT WORTHY!!!!
You are in danger of making me blush and thinking I know what I'm doing. And I thank you for it quite sincerely. I've heard your stuff and it leaves me slightly starstruck!
Yay! I'm glad you're back. And this is great, quite different from your usual moody cinematic panoramas, and I like the jaunty piano and cheery bass, YASS!
