Liner Notes

Created the underlying synth chord loop a long time ago, but never got around to make something of it. Could be re-arranged and edited and varied quite a bit, and I'd like to make an intro of some kind, but I like some parts of it.

*Added this to the "Sawtooth Melody" Challenge, not sure if it's really eligible but... there's a lot of falling and rising in pitch?

#instrumental #synth #genre?

another track with another great set of broken beats. the sea-sick synth line is really disorientating, so when the drums started i felt like i had something to hang on to... and then they flaked and peeled away, haha...

the vinyl saturation (?) sfx are really on point

your mixing skills are very good. what you using for your drum tracks?

Haha yes, it's quite unfinished structure-wise but I also like the idea of a track that morphs into something else, just have to find the right balance and transitions. I mostly use BFD but here it's EZdrummer3 combined with a drum rack with samples from old Maschine Libriaries. Ableton's Drum Bus with comp on both. There's a vinyl crackle sample in the drum rack but the overall saturation is probably from PSPs Vintage Warmer on the master bus. Thanks!

I'm not in the challenge, but thinking of a sawtooth, yes, this fits. Closed my eyes and enjoyed this. Kind of a dizzying effect. !!! Like being on a carnival ride. Can imagine all kinds of crazy clown faces and insane scenery zooming by. Good stuff. thanks

Interesting, hadn't made those assoiciations, but when you say it I can see it! Thanks for listening!

Yummy and intriguing is good. Will work more on this. Thank you!

Low synths and high synths whirling around is a really cool soundscape. There's some really nice percussive elements in here too.

Thanks!

Well this is really different to your usual sound. The bendy rhythmic synth is inspired madness. It makes me think of taking the night bus home after a glorious evening on the town. I could see it working really well chopped up and incorporated in a fuller track as short bursts possibly layered with sliding guitar or bass notes.

Night bus music, that's a great reference. Yes, the synth is more like a backbone I built the track around, will definitely cut it out in various places and vary it more. The last part is my favorite, might just build on that.
