Looking for structural and progression ideas, I have been starting some of my songs inspired by famous songs. I grab a sequence of chords here, a theme idea there. They are responses not rewrites. Any guesses?

As for lyrics and theme, I had an itch to explore all the axioms, and phrases that have the word damn in them.

I thought you were talking about FAWM for a second. Too much damned time on our hands, so we just keep writing these damned song. Does anybody give a damn? Maybe. This is a very appealing plaint, very catchy and insistent. That closing hook will stay with me for a bit, I think

Damn, this song is damn full of feels. I’ll be honest i started to get a little uncomfortable halfway through, but I do think you mined just about every damn way of using that word without repeating yourself (chorus notwithstanding)…!

No guesses on the inspiration but it feels like it could be something late 60's/early 70's...almost Donovan-esque. I really like it!

Pretty damn clever of you to include turns of phrases that amount to more than a damn. Nice approach. Let me also note that this kinda evokes the sentiment of Does Anybody Really Know What Time It is. Brilliant, my man.
