This week's theme on the "Seasons of the Ukulele Challenge" was to write or find songs with warm human contact (hugs, cuddles, holding hands, etc). I was inspired by our current domestic situation. We spend our evenings cuddled up on the couch watching a movie or a series.
But as we actually live on the Mediterranean coast, my narrator's details in the song draw more on my Dad's old place in Wales, than where I live now. That said we have had an unusually cold winter this year.
A few weeks back, I bought a toy recorder from Flying Tiger for €3.50. The first one was taken back because it wouldn't play some of the notes. But the second was fine. It's pocket size and every time I pick it up I feel inspired to write a tune. That's how this song started.

A cute recorder almost a bit of the pan feel. yeah cuddles do seem to come across better for the cold, but like you we have to find another way! like the recorder itself a cute song
The little recorder is in F. Though I wouldn't claim it was in concert pitch. I was lucky that the second one I tried was in tune with itself, at least. I do like finding truly musical uses for aparent tot instruments.

I enjoyed this a lot! If it wasn't for the word 'couch' I would believe it had been handed down through generations. I t has a gentle humour, without being a comedy song Beautifully put together.
Had to be couch. Sofa and Chaise-longue have too many syllables 😉

I think this fits the Sawtooth challenge! Love the recorder with it and I realize I missed hearing about the ukulele cuddle challenge. Works super well for that too.

Sweet and lilting with wonderful instrumentation ~ it’s refreshing to hear a song of cuddly satisfaction without longing or dreaming. The recorder is the perfect touch.

this sounds like a cross between a hane mcgowan bar room ballad and a new years ever singalong. i really like the enthusiasm in the vocal. Very holiday-like.
I will take either description 😉

An anthem for what I think serendipity means - something like a cross between wisdom, sublimity and laziness. Interestingly, the coastal vibes still come through, as the recorder gives it a sea shanty feeling!
