I started writing this song a few years ago after interacting with a former coworker. I was frustrated because I was still being treated as that quiet, shy girl I used to be. I went back and decided to finish the song as part of the #FAWM songwriting challenge after a recent interaction with a musician where I walked away and felt the same way.

I think people are not great at imagining that people can, in fact, change. It is very powerful to approach people by setting aside the past and being open to change. I am always at work on this in my relationships and this song is a reminder of what it feels like when I don't act that way.
