Liner Notes

Maddie's lyrics resonated with me, so I dropped in a harmonium and sang along. Thank you Maddie for allowing me to partake in your song!

Lyrics

verse Yet lonely it grows among whispering sheep

And as evening fall the dread settles weep

It weighs on the heart, As dark shadows In a world where the truth runs shallow.

chorus We listen and none dare questioning why, Hands stay clean as the line moves on, Just following words, just staying in time, While silence signs how fear begun.

verse Stretch long across the mind, where hope trembles and fall

We listen in silence, where darkness rise tall When fear takes hold, its grip holds fast

Hearts beats to the sound of boots from the past

chorus We listen and none dare questioning why, Hands stay clean as the line moves on, Just following words, just staying in time, While silence signs how fear begun.

Verse As crowds rise to cheer at words they barely hear,

Eyes glance away, pretending nothing’s near,

Flags held high as reason fades to dust,

While old mistakes return in quiet trust.

Wonderfully poetic lyrics with poignant imagery that really comes through with the well paced ballad that is delivered so well.

Lyrics are classic poetry. Strong portentousness, and I agree, it is a lament, for the living. Great collab guys. Cheers

The harmonium is a great choice for such a lament. And it is a lament; the times are changing, the lessons of the past forgotten. Great writing.

This is nice. Love the harmonium. Gives a very unique tone to the lyrics. 🙂

Great work, both of you.

Lovely, lovely song--great lyrics and one of your better vocals. Very nice collab! ❤️

This is a great pairing. These lyrics are very inspiring, and I enjoyed that you chose a harmonium. I also feel like Michael's vocal performance adds more depth. Only the ending is missing something. An outro? Last chord?

the pumping of the harmonium coupled with maddie's deep lyrics reminded me of Nico's late-period performances. jamkar's vocals are more expressive than Nico's though..and maddies lyrics are better than any Nico has ever sung....all of which makes this a must listen.
