Eternity Song

Liner Notes
This is my second attempt this month to write a closing track for my album but I don't think this will do it. Perhaps it is better to just write songs and let them go wherever they go, and eventually I'll end up writing a closer?
I think it's been a while since I tried to write a piano rock ballad type song. I tried to subvert Sinatra's My Way. I'd like to get better at writing lyrics but it does not come easy, and that's okay. Here the biggest issue is that part of the song is directed towards some unknown individual and then part of it is towards God. It just switches for some reason.
Lyrics
I don’t wanna do it my way when I face the curtain call Do you believe that a miracle could save you once you’re gone? And you know it’s never over It goes on and on and on and on and on
I could travel every highway, but without You, I'm forever lost I wanna spend all eternity with You, my Lord Because I need You forevermore And You know it’s never over It goes on and on and on and on and on

I like the bass and how it moves. Very cool piano tone too, almost slightly retro
thank you! i try to write good basslines so i appreciate that
I really dig the piano/synth work here. Nicely matched with your vocals. (Which I think are great,BTW) I wouldn’t sweat the lyrics. I find that hard too. Keep writing, and I’m sure you’ll find your ideal closer. Who knows, it might even be a spin off from this track?
thank you, i appreciate your kind words! i hope i do get a closer sooner than later. thanks again!
pretty epic piano ballad my boi
I'm guessing the "unknown individual" is referring to the first verse, which to me came off as addressing yourself. I can see it going both ways though.
thank you dawg. and interesting 🤔 i didn't write it with the intention of addressing myself, so that is an interesting interpretation
Nicely rendered… tho I agree with your comment to just write a bunch of songs and let them sort themselves out! Keep up the good work!
thanks!
The piano ballad remains an underrated artform. Really ends on a high note too and some great other synthy sounds.
