Lyrics
i used to think we were so different i'd never give in i'd never like you
but we're more similar than once thought after we started talk- -ing and i realized the truth
you like fish and raise them it's to the point of obsession at least i think but that's me
and i love bugs i can't hurt a beetle i think i like them more than people they say it's weird
and then one day i started to realize
i'm like an inchworm im inching closer to you all the time without a reason; without a rhyme i don't want to fall in love because i know that's not what you want
i just wanna inch away slowly but inching away don't come easily i know you don't feel that way i've been forcing myself to accept friendship and just inch away
i told myself it'd be a small crush this one would only last for a month i was so wrong
i ended up falling way too fast it felt like i was walking on glass but it was also kinda fun
you suspected me i had to lie low i nearly told you sooo many times but i just couldn't
i wondered if you'd ever take initiative and ask me to the movies or even to homecoming maybe but you wouldn't
i gotta stop, or ill never get out
i'm like an inchworm im inching closer to you all the time without a reason; without a rhyme i don't want to fall in love because i know that's not what you want
i just wanna inch away slowly but inching away don't come easily i know you don't feel that way i've been forcing myself to accept friendship and just inch away

This is so weird and good it's insane
Such a creative approach to your songwriting. The vocal layers bring the magic… from the harmonies to the acapella parts. The lyrics are nothing to sleep on either. You’ve got a unique style and talent for this. A rare combo!
oooh this is so good! stunning work
Love the 6/8 or 3/4 timing - lol I never know for sure. I am really enjoying your sense of melody as I listen to your songs. You chose really lovely intervals. To my ears you are maybe indie-pop or indie-folk, and you remind me of dodie in many ways. Your lyrical pacing and phrasing is very well done. I like how you change up things as you go - it keeps the song interesting. Putting the chorus in 4/4 really added to the change-up, and your pre-chorus was the perfect setup for the timing change. Great vocals and harmonies. Super clever lyrics. I really enjoyed your song. Oh - also I second everything @artie said!!
