Try to fix the thing

Liner Notes
A tangent via @richardmasters who suggested a re-prewrite of the song of noble attempts. Sometimes a guy's just got to play cheesy percussive keyboard.
Lyrics
Try to fix the thing It doesn't matter how The thing won't be fixed But keep trying
Go ahead, go ahead make a run Try to climb the mountain Might be the highest Who knows?
But no, go around Is this what disappointment looks like?
Gather will and leverage momentum Engage the heart, put fury in your step
Keep trying, for the glory and accomplishment But it won't be accomplished
And again and again Until exhaustion sets Gaze at failure Content with the effort

Great comment. I'm spending so much time in the theater these days that characterization is leaking into everything I'm doing.
Admirably weird! The tinkling keys, the murmuring background voices, the spoken word ... it all comes together well. Sounds like a man desperately trying to convince himself that he's not going insane. Unsettling but a pleasure to listen to!
Unexpected music! Good lyrics - especially the last two lines!
Haha—to me, this sounds like the world's worst producer trying to micromanage a synth band's first ever recording session. But he knows (as do we) that you can't go wrong with a cheesy percussive keyboard...
