Liner Notes

I wanted to write about something that would inspire the listener/reader to take a step back and consider what some would say are "just stories" to be true. I don't believe they are "just stories", but lessons that we can use to make both our lives and the lives of others better. If it's not for you, thats ok. If it does have meaning for you or piques your curiosity to know more, then I'm pleased to have been a small part of your journey. #gospel #spokenword #acoustic Credit to Jakob Welik at Pixabay for the background music.

Isaiah

In the land that was called Judah in the city Jerusalem Lived a man whose name Isaiah, became the voice of Elohim In a vision within the temple God was seated upon His Throne Then he purified Isiah’s lips touching them with a fiery stone

His job was not an easy one, God had chosen him to tell The many kings of the region, against God do not rebel He also spoke of the greatest King to ever come to earth This King stepped down into this world by a special virgin birth

Jeremiah

God chose the man Jeremiah long before he had been born To prophecy over Israel and avoid God’s wrath and scorn Tell the people of Israel, you must stop your idolatry And to end all corruption, this is my prophecy

The people in his own home town doubted what he said Accused of treason and put in stocks to be humiliated He wept for his own people because he knew what was to come God would punish Israel at the hand of Babylon

Ezekiel

Ezekiel, a priest in Jerusalem had seen powerful visions from God He lived and prophesied with fellow exiles from then on He warned the people of their sins, corruption and idolatry And they would suffer judgement from a warning prophesy

The prophet had a vision that God brought him to a place Where everywhere from side to side dry bones filled every space God told Ezekiel to speak to the bones to come alive And then life came upon them and an army did revive

Daniel

Daniel was a noble lad who was taken from his home By King Nebuchadnezzar II and forced to live in Babylon Trained in their culture he would be servant to several kings His interpreting of dreams would tell of many future happenings

Jealous rivals made a law that prayer was forbidden But Daniel continued to pray to God and did not keep them hidden He was thrown into a lions den to be punished for what he dared But God’s Angels shut the lions mouth and Daniel’s life was spared

Insight

There are many who gave prophecy from the Lord above All written and provided in His book given with love The stories of these holy men who live so long ago Teach wisdom and obedience to help us as we grow

These four men spent all their days to serve and share the truth About many future happenings and did so from their youth We can learn much from them if we’ll just take the time to listen And I hope and pray that these few words will help make your decision

This is so cool and unexpected! I’m up before 6 this morning with dark skies and warm coffee and you’ve cued up my devotional/reflection. I like the harp and violin and flute, adds a nice touch to the backdrop.

This is fantastic. Not only did you capture a snippet of each of the prophet’s story, but the rhythm of the lines and the consistent rhyme scheme throughout makes it so easy to listen to and digest. Nicely done. I’m going to listen again right now…

That's cool. I like the summaries and the backing music is fitting.

MORE! I want the music behind the words! Something that sounds like the time of the prophets if that makes sense? The words are clean and tight. I want something more than background sound to go behind them. Thanks for posting!

@mikebuford You asked for more, you got it! The demo is now live and it couldn't have turned out better. Thank you for your suggestion on the background sound, much appreciated and if you're of a mine to, I'd be happy to make this a collaboration. Just let me know. Thanks.

Good choice on the background music!

I am up for a collaboration! I will say, I have an out-of-town work trip next week, so I'll be in my car as much as I'll be anywhere for several days, but I will be keeping my notepad and iPad instruments handy for when something needs to get out. Check my profile for a good email address to reach me!

I enjoyed the synopsis of each prophets story, and how you can see the common thread that the goal was always to warn the people to turn from their evil ways. The same story plays out over and over even today, even now. Lord help us all.
