Liner Notes

Fired up some hardware for this #slothcore track. Featuring the Synthstrom Deluge and Hydrasynth for sounds. The title was auto generated by LoopyPro, which was fine for me. Recorded at 18 bpm and arranged in LoopyPro with added fx. The Hydrasynth has a lower limit of 30 bpm, so I halved the rate of some of the faster sounding loops, which still seem faster than 18 bpm.

On a couple of the loops I used one of my favourite fx, Magic Dice from Baby Audio. This one is simply a one button interface that loads random echo and reverb models. https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/magic-dice-baby-audio/id1597777029

Just dropped me into a slothtrance.Love the random elements that you used to bring it togehter. I've never tried to make a track at this tempo. Gonna have to try it sometime soon.

thanks for sharing some of the technical aspects. I love that!

Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it!

It's kinda like glitch music, but for sloths...which makes me picture a sloth in a pimp suit out on the town. Then at 2:37, the high tone on top of it all: The sloth took too long to get to da club and the sun is already rising. The sloth is in a David Lynch hell of LA at 5:35am. lol

Thanks again. Love your descriptions of how my music made you feel. Cool!

When I read this was at 18 Bpm it kinda melted my brain. Great sounding track, kept me very interested throughout.

Thanks Daniel. Slothcore is both fun and challenging to create. Glad you liked it.

Oh this plods along. Definitely very slothy and delightfully reverby. I enjoyed it as a backdrop to some data analysis at the lab I work in.

Very cool! One of my albums is titled Metaphorical Music For Household Chores and my photographer friend likes to edit photos to it.

Nicely all layered up and paced slothfully, very cinematic - i see a vast landscape- very atmospheric!

Cheers! Glad you share my intentions.

Love the textures here! Vaguely desolate but still lush. Perfect amount of dissonance! I'm loving the industrial machine-ish sounds. That almost geiger counter sounding crackle tells a bit of a story with that title. The sparser ending is so sad, it is such a great way to close it out. Really amazing work!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Digging #slothcore and should try it more often. I used Unfiltered Audio’s Needlepoint for the Geiger counter crackle and yes the title inspired me to do that.

Got to catch up some of your new songs and am looking forward to it.

I've been revisiting Portal lately, and this piece reminds me of the atmospheric music that plays while you're testing. Industrial and ethereal at the same time, with an air of menace that has no clear source.

Really, really cool. And nice work on getting something so slow to stay engaging all the way through.

Glad you liked it. Definitely more on the industrial side of the fence.

Sounds good! Love me some sloth core. 😊 I need to make a track myself... Did you see that ASM has a few new synths?

[pic]

Thanks! Yeah, I saw the new ASM flagship. Looks cool, and probably way deeper than I need. Had my Hydrasynth for a few years and still haven’t even come close to exploring all the sound design options. Really do like it and especially the poly touch key bed.

[pic]

It's a lot of synth! I played around with the Hydrasynth before sending it back. It was absolutely great, I just prefer something bi-timbral or multi-timbral. BTW, I subscribed to your Bandcamp from my other alter ego, Fat Boy Jamz.

[pic]

I saw that. Cheers! I’ll followed back. You have a lot of releases. Almost as many as me. lol
