Liner Notes

#indie #inspiration #full-production #stereophonic I think this came out because of all the negative stuff I've been seeing lately. Sometimes it's easier to contrast things rather than mirror them.

Lyrics

everyday when i choose the light in every direction

there’s something triggering my fight or flight trying to throw my perception

so i try to fly up to the sun over everyone

i’d rather be looking down from those clouds where i can see...

maybe its a just dream that i once had or maybe it’s supreme self preservation

yeah i’ll try to fly right up to the sun over everyone

i’d rather be flying around through those clouds where it’s clear

maybe its a just dream that i once had or maybe it’s supreme self preservation

yeah i’ll try to fly right up to the sun over everyone

i’ll choose the light

Negative stuff? What ever are you talking about? ;-) Absolutely with you, we all need to choose the light. "supreme self preservation" indeed! Ooh, I like when the strings come in and you bring it to the next level. Actually sounds like the feeling of flying through those clouds. Ohmmmmmm.

Yeah maybe it's just in my head. 🤣 I just love the strings on old records but all I have is a synth so, I did my best with it. Thanks for stopping by and listening :)

Love love love the chords, what a journey! The production on this is like flying through the air on a magic carpet. And such a good reminder to choose the light in a world that constantly wants us to succumb to darkness.

Thank you! oh, a magic carpet ride! Nice! Yeah, I think it’s good to reflect and try to keep a clear head with so much noise coming at you.

Enjoyed this a lot - a lot going on musically, harmonic centres twisting and shifting all over, which drags the melody around and you do a great job of staying on top of that. Lots of lovely production touches and orchestration. Great job

Thanks, I appreciate that. I try to stay on top of it, it’s a challenging thing for sure.

I've been hearing some smooth recordings today and this one fits the mood very well. People are talking about the chord progression and it is interesting but you make it sound so very fitting. Nicely composed and, of course, the message is muchly needed in these times.

Smooth is a challenging thing for me. I need to work on it and dynamics. Making a concerted effort to improve composition whenever I can. I get stuck in all kinds of ruts so.. knowing is half the battle I guess. Thank you for checking it out.

Some nice chord changes on this - kind of unexpected.

Thanks for listening. I really admire your recordings, I haven't dived in yet, I need to be ready to take it in properly. Yeah, it was a very unexpected song but more often than not, it seems, that's when fun things happen.

I love the chord progression, it's so interesting and keeps going places I don't expect! I like the positive day-dreamy outlook of the lyrics, and the soaring that the melody does. Your orchestration is great, it's so full! I did not expect the harpsichord, and that was a real treat too!

[pic]

Thank you :) I was really happy about the ending part where it drops and I added some heavy guitars. Kind of blasts open. I always wanted to try that and it seems to work? I'm always intimidated of recording acoustic guitar too but it seems ok.

Really nice production and message! Gotta choose the light for sure! I really like your voice with this melody. Nicely done!

Thank you.. I really like old songs like Midnight Cowboy.. I don't even know what the genre is but they have acoustic guitars, strings and brass and these awesome bass lines.. I can't do brass unfortunately, I wish.. and yeah, I have felt buried in negativity.
