Leaving the Village (TFAIF #1)

Liner Notes
The plan was to write a piece of music that could open a fantasy adventure, hence the title. After a bit, I found that most of the instruments I was using came from the Native Instruments' Ireland library. That led me to thinking of our friend @sexybass who we lost last year -- he loved Irish music -- so I think I should dedicate this to him.
It didn't seem that the title needed to change.
I started by playing in the whistle part on a keyboard and things just escalated from there.

What a delightful old-world blend of sounds! Bittersweet and evocative. We listen to a lot of Irish music around our house, so I sure appreciate this one.
Lovely tribute! The natural sounds in the percussion are really soothing. The brightness of the mandolin is cheeky. Very fitting.
i’m always so impressed by multi-track instrumentals. like, how does this not take days and days? there are so many different moving parts and little details!
when the mandolin came in at the end, i closed my eyes, and it’s like tom was playing it 🥹 this is a beautiful way to honor and remember him hugs
Thank you. I didn't know what instrument I was going to use to finish the melody line until, "mandolin, of course," came to mind. I'm happy you caught the point of that! 😄
It certainly sounds like we're getting ready to go on a quest, whether in this world or the next. Very pretty production.
Ah, that's beautiful, Phil! A fitting title either way.
Oh, this is lovely! A fitting tune for the theme you were going for, I could absolutely see this being used at the beginning of an adventure.
So very evocative, with elements of travel and hopefulness and a very fantasy mood. The whistle is just lovely. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the story.
