eee hi! this is not only my first fawm song submission, but my first song ever 🥹 i'd planned on just writing lyrics for this challenge but seeing all the amazing songs by everyone here inspired me to try out composing!

i'm super sick at the moment so singing is not an option, but the lyrics i wrote below informed on my creation process. the theme i'm choosing to explore this month is how people relate to the universe (philosophically). i had verses too but they're very wip so maybe someday when i'm feeling better i'll record a full sung version 🙂‍↕️ honestly though i might just keep it as is because i think it's pretty as an instrumental??

arranged all by myself on cubase 12 using the spitfire intimate grand piano plugin! my partner @lumiacinth helped with mixing afterwards because that's all so new to me lol (one of the perks of having a musician bf 💕)

AHHHHHHHH THIS IS SO GOOD OMG. Like the piano composition was insane! I felt like I just watch an episode of an anime where my favorite character just died and then the screen suddenly cuts to black and starts playing this as the ending song, which then makes my cry even more (lots of random exposition, I know LOL). Maaaaaaaaaan, super excited to see what else you'll come up with and I hope you feel better soon! (─‿‿─)

This is so gorgeous!!! I love the harmonies and bit of dissonance. The structure is really great, especially for your first time!! Really does feel like a spinning universe. It gives me a bit of Joe Hisaishi vibes. Amazing work & welcome to FAWM!!!!

AAAAA THANKYOU 💞 honestly i’m surprised by myself bc i totally thought i’d make eclectic electronic stuff (like you do, since thats what i enjoy listening to) but somehow landed on a pretty piano piece 🤷‍♀️ im not complaining bc it feels right but someday will def wanna experiment more with diff sounds/genres when i’m ready! ty for listening

Welcome! I love this sound. Those twinkly high introductory notes are captivating. They do sound starry and rare. I really like the lyrical turnaround from "nothing" to "everything," as well.

Your first song?!! Natural talent! Some of those chord choices are so interesting! I loved this was randomly given to me by the song dice roll right now as it’s 5 am and dark and quiet and this is the perfect soundtrack to look out the window and enjoy my coffee. Thanks for sharing with us 💚

This is wonderful-I especially like the dust identity communicated so matter of fact like that. The piano sounds beautiful. Accompanied with your poetry, you should be proud, amazing first song!

No reason not to have an instrumental version and a sung version both. I quite like the chorus lyrics. I'm sick too so I'm having trouble processing right now exactly where the lyrics line up to the music, I'll try to come back and listen again when my brain is working.

Oh this is lovely! Even with just the piano it has a deep emotional resonance and it's so soothing to listen to. Also first song EVER, wow! It's so impressive, I would never have guessed it was your first. You're off to a great start!
