Oddly, my mind went to probably not the way you intended to write this…I was reading it imagining not a literal stranger but the stranger as being a lost part of one’s own self. It made for an interesting way to read the lyrics. I dunno, Maybe that’s just me being in an introspective mood! In any case you portray the sense of loneliness and abandonment well here 💚

Powerful story - the stranger that you were formerly close to (something happening in my life now unfortunately). Lots of potential for a song, so many powerful lines.

Thinking of a stranger is someone you haven't gotten to know yet is one thing, but thinking of someone you think you know and now feels like a stranger. That's a really sad thing. Just the words evoke deep emotions.
