ICE ICE Go Away

by @joefahey

Liner Notes

Living in the Minneapolis ICE Zone, it'll be hard to ignore that presence when writing this year. I told myself I'd stay away from political stuff if I didn't have anything to add but this morning I came up with this simple song that just felt like the way I feel right now.

#folk #protest #folkrock #ICE #political #minneapolis

Lyrics

ICE ICE go away don't come back any other day

The people here didn't want you and they want you to go away you just cause a lot of chaos so please (and I'm not going to say please again) just go away

ICE ICE go away don't come back any other day

If you even knew what you were doing everything would be so neat it's obvious you don't know what you're doing and now there's blood in the street

ICE ICE go away don't come back any other day

Yes. Love the lyrics. Go away dont come back. I like your vocals on this. Powerful yet quiet song!

Beautifully put. It's so gentle and truthful.

My FAWM is uncharacteristic this year: I'm stuck in anger mode. It's a lot to process and FAWM just happens to fall during the worst of it.

The change of seasons is just around the corner!

Joe, great job on this. I have so much admiration for the way you folks have stood up for each other. This song says it all; get out of our town and leave us alone!

ICE ICE go away, simply put, well said, straight to the point. Such a cool spin on the rain rain go away song.

This song exudes such vulnerability and strength. Well done.

I feel for you folks in Minneapolis (and everywhere else that they are invading) Simple, and to the point - the best tact for this type of song.

Surprised by this one. Thought it might be loud and aggressive. Really loved the quiet almost whisper vocal you used. I didn’t catch it at first…the play on “rain rain go away.” Nice plea. Would be so nice if they would just take your advice. Like the sound of this one too. Great start to FAWM Joe!

Very Well said my friend. I feel for you and my other brothers and sisters at home. You said it succinctly. "it's obvious you don't know what your 're doing and now there's blood in the street" Sad that we have to say it, but thanks for writing it. You and Bruce are righteous and brave enough to put it out there. Well done! and welcome back!

This is definitely a song that had to be written. I'm sure that more will come from others. When creatives face adversity, the crap in their lives becomes a song. I'm a safe (and sane) distance from the tribulations you are facing. From my safe distance it seems horrible. I can't imagine how you must feel being in the middle of the unnecessary mess. The midterm elections seem too far away.
