Semi-improv. I was in a rush to record before my family came home so I only did two runthroughs of the lyrics and kind of made up the piano as I went.

Great piano tone. I find that writing music is cathartic; it helps us make sense of human experiences but it can also bring great sadness into our lives. For this reason I often take self imposed breaks. The piano especially, has a wonderful brooding quality and echoes your thoughts well.
