The lyric feels like an invitation to make the most of being mortal while it lasts. My approach was to go ahead and incorporate some of the guitar skills I aspire to learning over the next couple of years into the song. My last year self would be proud of my this year self.

Tonight the world is waning, the full moon now has passed. The mother ends her training, the crone will come at last. 'Tis Mabon and the equinox, the slowing of the season. Nature now will detox, dying off for reason.

The cycle will go ever on, birth, life and death. Tonight emerges Mabon, the moon shall hold her breath.

Now the world knows magic, the hunt has long since been. But this death will be not tragic, the rising of the queen. Without the ending of a life, we'd not have renewal. This season does not bring us strife, it's as bless'ed as a jewel.

Dark, waxing, full and waning, summer, fall, winter, spring. This the natural order of things, we'll see what the season brings.

So feast and let's be merry, if you be ag'ed or young. Fruit, grain, wine and berry, once the song is sung. It's time to move so joyfully, we dance, enact the rite. In darkness we yet still can see the moon on Mabon night.
