Liner Notes

For the "Something about you" skirmish. I struggled to think of anything, until I settled on the idea of outliers. People who are not usual. Anyway, what I wound up with is not my best, but still a decent first draft.

Title came from a Cradle of Filth song about humanity's war against nature, "Suffer Our Dominion". There's a lyric video for it here:

Hope you get something from this.

Lyrics

Hey look, it's Cassie fuckin' Moon! Her soul exists too soon. A revolution in black vegan leather, acclimatised to the weather. She's here to tell a story (use caution 'cause it's gory) about the ending of humanity, it comes from insanity.

She sang of Joe Blow who put on a good show: grief, fear and woe, steppin' on my toe. Apocalyptic, strategic, a one-man war (sic), a needle prick.

But Cassie knew Joe, from when she was a ho. "He's a force of nature, see, a wasp more than a bee!" Mother Nature knows humanity's a problem, but we'll take care of ourselves. Joe Blow's kinda like Gollum, enemy of elves.

The declining of our race, will come from within. Joe had a pleasant face, hiding a heart of sin. He thought we must be punished, developed a neurotoxin, our species' time is finished, but we won't go out boxin'.

Joe Blow was Nature's control - when She wanted to get rid of us, She used a human soul; a population thrown under the bus. She didn't need plagues, or another ice age. She made humans self-governing, with the death that Joe will bring.

But Cassie, gassy Cassie, she tried to warn the world, but very, very unfortunately, society would rather eat cheese. Fuckers.

This has got a great energy and attitude that just explodes off the page. Nicely done!

Joe, with his pleasant face and hidden heart of sin, sounds like an influencer.

society would rather eat cheese.

You've got society's number. Here, too:

Fuckers.

Prophetic song. Without a doubt. I'd like to think you are wrong. But I know better.

I'm a fan of large functional vocabulary coupled with whimsy and playful vulgarity.

“Toe” and “Apocalyptic” as back-to-back words is a nice poetic touch to show how hard it is to come to the proportions of things. A well-framed absurdist lyric that leaves me doubting everything.
