#folky #harms #advice Another take on this fine prompt, a bit more positive than the previous attempt, but a similar, imagined, situation

Lyrics

Sitting between two cultures It’s hard not to get confused See what resonates with you Before long you’ll be coping

It’s not the easiest thing to do But we have such faith in you We trust that your instincts will be true And you’ll end up coping

Everyone gives advice Not everyone has a clue Let them care for themselves And you’ll find that you’re already coping

Coping, such an easy word to say You’ll know when you get there Like being on holiday So pack some shades and some beachwear

Coping, coping with life Coping, coping with the everyday Coping, coping with life Coping, getting easier each day

Coping, coping

I like the formulation of coping as the middle ground between abandonment and success, even if that’s not the empowering way to look at it. There is good depth in the irony here too, using advice that is not necessarily well-intended to show how wisdom emerges.

Lovely vocal melody/harmonies. So much truth here. Quite pleasant to listen to/meditate on.

I am always so impressed when you can churn out multiple lovely little songs in a single skirmish! The gentle harms are a particularly lovely addition on this one.
