Such An Easy Thing To Say

Really happy with how this one turned out, been playing the opening riff non-stop today.
Lyrics
i got up to walk out in the morning nothing of note seemed to occur i thought it would get me feeling better now im just feeling worse
don’t tell me i’m not trying trying’s all i do these days you tell me just don’t worry about it that is such an easy thing to say
walking back home it starts pouring hiding the tears rolling down walked pass the ballpark the sub shop, and parking lots quietly lurking the town
got down to main street soaking wet, sore feet around where we all hung about that’s where you told me that you knew that you wanted me but you said it wouldn’t work out
don’t tell me i’m not trying trying’s all i do these days you told me that you loved me that is such an easy thing to say
i make it back home in the evening suddenly it stops to rain it’s funny how life works it gets good, then ya get hurt it has to remind you of pain
don’t tell me i’m not trying trying’s all i do these days you told me it gets better that is such an easy thing to let me down and go away that is such an easy thing to say

This is beautiful! That riff is fantastic & catchy. I love the progression through the day. Your vocals are so good!!! "Soaking wet and sore feet" is a great grounding moment. The piano going down toward going home is perfect. I think this is going to be stuck in my head. Epic outro! Just absolutely gorgeous fantastic work!
You’ve written some great music man but this is by far in the top 3 of songs you’ve ever written. Well told narrative flipping between the walk and the conversation that made you take it. Progression is super catchy, folds like but with your own chromatic twist to it (is this a “Folds-like”?). hearing you in IOU has my raised my expectations for what you put out, but you absolutely smashed it sir. Keep up the good work!!
