Lyrics
WHAT IF?
Verse 1 What if there's no flowers, How do I show Mommy love? What if skies are smoky, And there's no sun up above. What if we can't go outside And play with all our friends, Because the weather's always bad. Is this how our world ends?
MOMMY CHORUS: What if Mommy loves you more than yesterday, today What if Daddy loves you more today and all the tomorrow's (to come)
Verse 2 Mommy played a lot outside, When she was a little girl. And Daddy says he played a bunch-- It was a different world. They both say they're so sorry; Seen them both cry with such shame. But the tv says the government And rich folks are to blame.
MOMMY BRIDGE: Show me your love Give me your hand We play outside with the sun, the moon and stars
MOMMY CHORUS: Mommy loves you more than yesterday, today Daddy loves you more today and all the tomorrow's

Sweet chorus! Singing, instruments, arrangement rockets me into 70's singer-songwriter days. What a contrast to the world depicted in the verses. The meaning of that, I like how it kind of sneaked up on me.
This is a novelty and all the better for that. It reminds me a little of very old nursery rhymes that may in fact, have a much darker theme than often realised like 'Ring a Ring o'Roses'. Well done both on the collab!
