No matter what the topic, Liz always finds an interesting way to deal with it. I mean, who would write lyrics about bugs? And find them pretty? That would be Liz!

This is a children's song, so I resisted the urge to add chords all over the place. It was almost a three-chord song until an Em slipped in. Now that my fun is over, it's your turn to see if you like insects.

Our bug songs couldn’t be more different! Fully agree we must recognize how important insects are to all of nature, including us. Dragonflies are my favourite, along with bumble bees.

Insects that eat other insects or pollinate plants are good with me. Mosquitoes and blackflies are not appreciated.

I love bugs so obviously I had to come check this out. I love the term “bug art!” I have a mug that is embossed with beautiful gold-leaf bugs and this has the same energy. Really lovely, you two!

Paul, esp. like how your music bounces cheerfully along -- and love your vocal performance! Warm and slightly textured, your voice has the quality of revealing a secret you can't wait to tell. More than whisper, less that full voice, it make your storytelling feel so personal. Really a clever, charming song!

paul gives this tantalizing lyric a the true colors of a childrens song. im sure most kids would love it, but i wonder about my own daughter, who is terrified even of dead bugs. cant wait to play it for her to see her reaction. maybe it will help her learn to love bugs.

I wish a song would cure a fear of bugs, Bill, but I doubt it. If you were entertained for a couple of minutes, that's enough for me. My daughter-in-law can't even tolerate butterflies!

Oh my gosh, this is so so fun! I love insects and making them bug art is fantastic! I think my students would love this.(Elementary music teacher here.)

Also, there's an important message in there, through the lines that say 'And now we must take care / Of insects everywhere'. I read recently that, in the event of a nuclear war the resultant nuclear winter would wipe out all pollinators ...

I love it. Most insects are misunderstood. Bug art indeed. Honestly, many insects are better looking than a lot of humans lol. Nature is beautiful, whereas individual humans have strong preferences for how other humans can be attractive. We're pickier about each other than we are dogs or cats, for instance.
