Tiny Furniture

Liner Notes

Only had a couple of free evenings during this sprint (this format doesn't work for me at all if I'm honest) but here's something at least! My first #songfight in a while also.

#indiepop #mildlypsychedelic #backrooms

Lyrics

you said I could come over and watch a little TV I never stopped to think you might mean it literally the eye strain was intense, I had to go and lie down I didn't fit the bed, so curled up on the ground

I couldn't sleep, I had to call and ask "why is all your furniture so small?" I heard your footsteps echo down the hall why is all your furniture so small?

you loomed above me and you offered me a drink a tiny glass filled slowly from a miniature sink it barely touched the sides, I didn't understand was the world shrinking or had I begun to expand?

(chorus)

is this nightmare just beginning? why oh why wont you stop grinning?

(chorus)

Amazing stuff. Has a particular deranged quality that I really enjoyed. That counter melody synth in the chorus in particular is wonderful.

The second song I've heard tonight about tiny furniture! Love that synth melody you've created. The grinning is sinister! The shift in tempo and the backing vocals on the chorus are really nice, too. Solid song!

I love this!!! Particularly how you get from the tv to the bed in the first verse. Fantastic chorus.

Everything is fun and enjoyable about this, the great crunchy distorted drum machine, the seasick but cheerful synths, the scene pictured in the lyrics, the drawn out expaa-and, the energy and left-field pop sensibilities, the "mildlypsychdelic" tag. Love it!

I find the song sprint format not as great too, but cool that you got a song out. Such fun lyrics! It's got a great, bouncy beat that's really happy making.
