I Do

Lyrics

she gave me a smile and told me i do

you look at her and feel usual business, head over heels too many think they’re out of her league and they don’t even say a word

and i understand i knew myself like the back of my hand and i knew i was incredibly shy and i had to go through the hurt

so i gathered all the courage in my big fat heart i told her hello and that’s the hardest part had a pleasant conversation then she had to leave i asked her “when you’re free “would you want to grab a coffee with me?”

she gave me a smile and told me i do inside there’s something alive something brand new and ive never felt this way before locked in a room, now i’ve opened the door and although im sure dreams won’t come true she gave a smile and told poor little me i do

Piano sounds great. I love how the rhythm shifts after the first line and then the slowdown at "i asked her “when you’re free" is also effective.. A favorite lyric is "i knew myself like the back of my hand." This is a sweet song, well done.

I really like the pacing of this song, the tasteful chord changes, and the vocal phrasing evolving throughout the song. Really neat composition! The ending is really moving between the chord choices, lyrics and vocal phrasing!
