The arrival on the green is imminent! I see marching bands leading a trail of enthralled children behind them. Very evocative!

Floating along on cotton candy clouds and popcorn, this circus whirls and twirls as the organ grinder sneaks sips from a secret flask. It’s a long night but there’s nowhere else he’d rather be.

This night's skirmish prompt was clowing around. You should participate if you haven't :) Very cute and entertaining composition.

oh my gosh! Absolutely!!! Thanks for listening!

A very lovely listen. Inially brought to my mind the Fellini film 81/2 but not sure why that one though it feels generally very cinematic to me. Nice instrumentation and catchy melodic phrases.

Thanks for listening! I'll have to check out that movie. The related/unrelated has me captivated. :-)

From internet: The iconic music from Federico Fellini's 1963 masterpiece 8 ½ (Otto e mezzo) was composed by the legendary Italian composer Nino Rota. Nino Rota's score for 8 ½ is one of the most famous collaborations in cinema history. The music blends circus-like melodies, melancholy carnival tunes, and sweeping orchestral themes that mirror the chaotic, dreamlike inner world of the film's protagonist, Guido Anselmi. You can explore the tracklisting and details via Discogs. • Ps the film is superb too

How much is that doggy in the window! Cute circus variation!

You caught it!!! That was completely what prompted this melody! 😀

It's good but I don't know how the credits/IP works - I think it's ok in UK copyright law, it was 52. But America it's a longer period

Fun -- instantly recognizable as circus music but still inventive in the melody. I loved hearing the flute come in. Quite pretty, with a sense of humor.

Thank you! I def tried to get away from JUST the calliope and get some real instruments as well. Thx for listening!

This is adorable. The different sections definitely stand out from each other and I like how the arrangement gradually gets grander. This is an awesome piece! It would definitely elevate the regular circus music.

Oh my gosh this comment means so much to me because that's EXACTLY what I was trying to do. I've always struggled with keeping the simplicity of song form to just an A & B section and then gradually building the A section, pulling out the rug after the B section, and then finishing big. Thank you so much, Robin!

@lowhum

great little tune - like it when the glocky things chime in and the overall mood is addictive. this is definitely circus ready.
