Push Through

Liner Notes

So the third song of the "Jimmy gets cancelled" rock tragedy. Or well, it was supposed to, but I'm not really sure I like how it fits in. This might be one I let sit for a while and revamp once the whole album is in place.

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Woke up this morning to my phone’s ding Got another message to not come in That’s the third time this month Time again to find another one

[Verse 2] Came home this evening to a letter I no longer match the required score I’ve got one month to move Then I face the boot

[Chorus] There’s no why It comes from above Who made it so? Dig in to find out Get fed the same old lies

[Verse 3] Fell over midday from the intense heat I don’t have the means to get aid Got to sell off all I have While trying to keep my soul

[Chorus] There’s no why Its set from above Who made it so? Dig in to find out…

[Bridge] We get told an endless feed of noise And there’s always someone to blame This keeps us all satisfied And keeps our focus away from…

[Chorus] Who owns the news Who owns the land Will own the crowds They own our lives

Spread wide who they are And push through the endless feed And push through the endless feed And push through the endless feed

Terrific rhythm here, and the bass and melody bop along with it. I really like the sound. It makes the story even more fun to listen to. And I love the transition from "Dig in to find out…" to the Bridge.

This is a really good job of establishing Jimmy's plight in this state of mind and as usual it rocks so well.

I mean this makes sense to me as the next section of things. I dig it! It's super high energy. I can imagine Jimmy frantically running around on the stage in a pseudo montage of events.
