Children at War
Liner Notes
See I said I was gonna do longer songs well this one is longer than like half the songs of last time. Anyway topical or nostalgic?
Lyrics
Roped into it You're just a kid Fighting for a plot you don't understand With weapons you can't hold in your hand This is it This is the real thing
Children at war Children at war Children at war
There is nothing you can do Everyone is walking So you better push on through You're all pawns waiting to be queens On the other side There is nothing waiting
Children at war Children at war Children at war
You can't understand The weight of your actions Because time never stands still For you to wait And question faith
Nothing is fair Nothing is fair Nothing is fair Nothing is fair Nothing is fair
They're all in On children at war Pushing all the chips For children at war
Children at war Children at war Children at war
They're betting it all On children at war They're risking it all For children at war Children at war Children at war

Topical AND nostalgic, I think. Enjoying the music! Seems perfect to use the 80s synth wave style and synths, telling the "children," hey this is real, not a game while yeah, ironic - whose generation makes a game of this life? It's never the young ones. Especially like the line "They're betting it all." We know that the payout comes from us, not them.
These lyrics definitely hit hard, and the playfulness of the track makes the tragedy of the lyric go deeper. I really like how stylishly you've constructed this. It feels fresh, undone, but well thought-through.
