That riff in the chorus is on some holy shitness! Fucking love this. I think Minutemen and/or Sublime said, punk is playing whatever you wanna play, it's the approach more than what the music sounds like. BTW, I almost said cunt in my first song today, but then chickened out 😭

punk in seattle only lasted a year or so. for me, it ended after my band played an opening set for the dils and the firepolice stormed the venue and i jumped out a window and ran home. this song goes right to the heart of what was so exciting about that sliver of punk time when nobody knew they were punks and would soon be replaced by posers. dead kennedys for sure. in 1999, jello biafra came to seattle with some other organizers and instructed over 10,000 of us in how to effectively protest the WTO conference without getting killed by the police. things were different then, now facebook tells a bunch of senior citizens to pick up a sign from their local campaign center and show up at a certain intersection at a certain time. nobody knows what they are doing, and their lack of dead kennedy giving instructions led to at least one death in minneapolis.
