I was spinning my wheels, wanting to write almost any other song, but there were things on my mind that, I suppose, needed to come out first. Sort of like a palate cleanser when eating a meal, before going on to the next course. Hopefully more courses will follow. Anyway... I think what came out needed to be said.

This Country’s Got the Blues

Have you noticed lately how things are so insane. Blatant crass corruption, savage treatment sub humane. Stupid proclamations, they say it’s common sense. We all know it’s bullshit and it comes at great expense. Hey all you MAGA mothers, not sure you heard the news... America is in freefall; this country’s got the blues.

Not sure how it came to this, not how we were raised. Big clown at the top, needs worship, gifts, and praise. Says fairness and compassion only shows we’re weak. Then he falls apart and cries if we dare to critique... His many flaws and foolish flips, what are we to do? America is in decline; this country’s got the blues.

Wonder if it’s past too late, the damage too extreme. Do we have the guts to stop their evil, racist schemes? It’s time we stand up to them, time that we resist. Time to show these bastards that we’re way beyond just pissed. Take back all our freedoms, time we share our views. Cuz… America is hurting; this country’s got the blues. Take out all the garbage, the stinking, vile refuse. Cuz… America’s become a joke, this country’s got the blues.
