I know they mean well, but it’s like living in hell They’re always digging for answers No privacy left, like identity theft Spam filling your inbox unanswered

Where are you going and where have you been Did you meet someone that you knew? Everything’s changed since they left the scene They worry what young people do these days

And it’s hard to explain just how different it is How everything moves so fast Society is not what it was And nothing, nothing is built to last

So I smile and I listen and try to be nice To be the person they want me to be I nod my head slowly to all their advice Underneath I’m anything but calm

I know they mean well I know they want what’s best
