So Very Glad You're Here

Liner Notes
sapient: Charlie popped into the chat a couple of days ago on his way back from Guatemala. "I'm checked into a tiny room in a hotel by the airport awaiting my 6am flight. I have no instruments, but I am glad to pitch in a lyric if someone needs one." So, of course, I said YES PLEASE! And then got a bit stuck with the tune, suffering one of those awful ambition/talent mis-matches. So I reached out to HFO who provided one of the tastiest synth arpeggios known to man. And now here we are. I hope you all like it 😀
Lyrics
Marble inlaid entryway Mist blurs the leaves Blue light swirling mystery Door opens for me to....
Chill. With. You.
A touch, a smile, no words required Our bodies feel the love Breathing warmth from the fire Being present is enough to......
Chill. With. You.
So glad you're here So glad you're here So very glad you're here
I love to
Chill. With. You.

Oh maaaaaaan, you guys! So crazy cool. FAWM FOREVAH! So grateful I got to be a part of this. You two are the bestest. ❤️
I do indeed like it! Read up on your bio, you’ve had a big year! I’d like a doctor to tell me what’s going on in my head (should have insurance in March fingers crossed) also I love portishead so I’m very jealous!
The guitar sounds so good the arp is incredible and your voice is perfect!
Oh wow, this is how the best collabs happen. Very chill and spacey. Gives me the atmosphere of early U2, but in a good way...
Oh yeah! I had seen the lyrics and I was anxiously waiting for this super collab. Love that chorus, the timing of the song and how it grows, and how it feels like an instant classic.
I love how the early verses feel like chilling with someone you are close with….and then the last verse/bridge/guitar solo/chorus is ripping! Intensely conveying the mantra! I also think it is magical how this collaboration came together - how very FAWM! Wonderful! Not bad for a prompt from a hotel room!
Great collab, great use of all of your talents. I dig how this drifts back and forth from feeling like an 80s tune in the verses to 90s grunge over the hook, then fucking hammering the heavy. The heaviness to the music, the monster solo, the metal, that suggests that the lyric is a positive spin, an desperate invitation to find relief. To actually chill.
That's great, brings me to some 80s postpunk bands and U2 in particular. In a whole, the song sounds so good, great work!
