Songbabble
Challenge: MADE-UP WORDSLiner Notes
So, I was reading the forums, and saw @complexissimple 's post proposing a songwriting card game, called Songable. I misread the word, realized it almost instantly, laughed, and then immediately started to write.
The melody kept trying to morph on me, and the autoharp needs practice, especially for the instrumental intro, so I ended up with two tracks, almost like I was trying to properly record it. Well, really, three tracks, since I didn't get the volume consistent enough on the parts I had to sing again to put them into the main vocal track, and it's easier to have two tracks than to try to remember how to change volume up and down in the same track.
And sometimes FAWM is about doing things the fastest way, right?

Songbabble Deirdre M Murphy
D A Sometimes you must just emote E A And, with feeling, let your sweet voice float D A Suggest meaning with any sound E A Fling silly syllables all around
Chorus 1: D A Oooooh, oooo-ooo-ooo-oooh E A Aaaah-oh-ah or naa naa naa D A Hippity hoppity-hee hee hee E A Di-dah di-dah, and fa la la
Roars and hums—just vocal fuzz Maybe use some onomatopoeias Those sizzling popping crackling words If you think too much, they sound absurd
Chorus 1
You don’t have to write a whole paragraph Those nonsense words make people laugh So even if you’re no good at scrabble You can always add some goofy songbabble
Chorus 1, followed by Chorus 2:
D A Ooooh la la la la wah wah wah E A Meepity moopity maa maa maa D A You can sing almost anything E A Just open your mouth and let it ring

Autoharp is perfect for showcasing the voice and the lyrics! What a delightful romp. I do appreciate the ending encouragement to sing anything (no matter how ridiculous)!
Di-Dah is what my younger daughter called her older sister when she was little, still does occasionally as a nickname when she writes a card or something to her. I love your little serendipitous misreading of the prompt. What a fun song it morphed to. I co-wrote a song about writing songs in your head while in bed, but not remembering what kind of song it was when you woke up. Like was it do whop or country or blues. The chorus asked was it La-di-da-di-da or Yodeladyhoo, Shebop shebop doowah, or was it singing the blues. Some people got it, some didn't, but it was still fun. Yours is even more fun!
Nicely done. I always like some songbabble. Ella Fitzgerald was legendary for it.
This is such jolly fun - The autoharp makes for an interesting backing to your lovely voice. What a great happenstance to make a song from amisread such as this. you had me giggling. 😄
