I love political/protest songs that lead with joy, and this certainly does. Joy is always a better binding agent than rage (which is, I think, why our country keeps failing to successfully organize the left on the "outrage" basis). I also absolutely love that ending couplet, and I love that you've given it emphasis through repetition.

I like this take on the prompt - I have to say I need to heed your advice. Depending on the company I'm with I'm not always comfortable declaring my stand on the issues. Thanks for your strong lyric and song. Makes an excellent protest song.

There have been so many great political songs written lately and this is among the best. The only good thing I can think of about the current US regime is how it's served as musical inspiration. You know I agree with every word you wrote, I especially like the inclusion of the animals, and the acid remark about Genocide. I didn't even realize it was just three chords, I was so involved in the words.

Indeed. I always thought anyone standing for office should be invited to watch the first section of the animated film "UO" - they should then be secretly filmed. If they display no emotion they should not be allowed within a 100 miles of power. 😉
