I love that second verse! Neat detail about the eyesight playing a part in the narrator's desire not to be up front. And that line about the bullies rang such a bell with me. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Yep, an interesting and relatable slice of childhood. I have some similar memories. I can remember times when aI wanted to be in the back, and other times when I wanted to be in the front. Also, in about 8th grade I knew I needed glasses but dreaded the idea of wearing them. One of my teachers caught me squinting at the blackboard and I was busted! Nice singable hook on "always at the back." Good skirmish!

I feel this one from my childhood. It's tough to be at the back. Also, my last name is toward the end of the alphabet and I was often last and at the back as a result. I like the tone of the song. A bit somber, but not depressing.
