Lyrics

Like a badger slashed by a dagger that's how I felt when she spoke to me as an epic smile lit up her whole face ?!or was it an epic simile "Like it or lump it" she said "I'm leaving you" !heh, aint life kinda sweet Yeah, my sugar takin' off with my brother and kickin' me in the teeth. So just like my teeth I had to take her out and give her a dressin' down 'cos my brother is also her brother ; that's why they had to leave town. So I went out with my friend Homely into the centre of town, where we then blew up at a turf accountant's. Now I could write my feelings down. My friend Homely that's my step-dog well, she sits on the bookies' floor as she trips up all of the losers who try to step over her. Yeah, like a badger slashed by a dagger that's how I felt when she spoke to me while an easy smile got lost in the distance down a street called Misery

Super title. A great read - like a stream-of-conscious story being told right there in the moment. I felt like it could be a monologue from a character in a film or play. Good stuff!

That opening "like a badger slashed like a dagger" really only begins to set the stage for this intense storytelling. So much packed into these lyrics and love the "step dog" reference. The street called Misery is such a great ending and title too. Would love to hear this put to some music!
